NAME
Name: the letter G refers to Garnacha. The 3 is the combination of different vineyards with common characteristics of the entire region.
The label: the most representative building of our town, the 15th century Castillo de la Coracera and the inverted crescent of the shield of San Martín de Valdeiglesias.
“Selection of the best grapes from Syrah and Tempranillo vineyards to accompany our special Garnachas de Gredos”.
HARVEST
Manual harvest in perforated boxes. Weight per box between 15 and 18 kilos. Classification of clusters in the vineyard itself.
VINIFICATION
Vinification in steel tank. Total grape destemming and fermentation with native yeasts. Short maceration without seeking extraction. Comebacks and soft bazuqueos. Once the fermentation is finished, it is pressed in a pneumatic press. Separation of press wine based on tasting.
AGEING
In 225 liter French oak barrels for at least 13 months. The length of aging is determined by weekly tastings that are complemented by technical analysis.
The way of cultivation in all our vineyards is the Traditional Agriculture of the region.
No type of systemic product is used for pests. Occasionally, if the year is very rainy, the only pest that can develop is powdery mildew, which is combated with powdered sulfur. As has been done historically. Other pests are not observed in the area. In 2021, a single preventive treatment was applied at the beginning of sprouting.
The fertilizers are organic with a mixture of manure from different animals.
Pruning is entirely manual. The pruning remains are crushed and left in the vineyard to increase the texture of the soil.
In 2021 the yield per hectare was 1,600 kilograms. This gives us a yield of 940 grams/vines.
VIEW
Cherry red wine with garnet nuances on the rim. Intense and deep, with a high layer. Shaking the glass shows a good alcoholic tear.
AROMAS
High aromatic intensity, very clean, where aromas of scrubland and black fruit in compote combine, with balsamic sensations. Complex nose with abundant notes very well assembled.
TASTE
In the mouth it has a tasty body, with very rounded tannins. With a powerful acidity that transmits freshness.
