In 2021, Madrid had a pretty warm year! Temperatures were above normal, making it the 10th warmest year since 1961. We started off with a cold January, but February was the opposite, warmer than usual!<\/p>\n

The spring was rather warm, especially in May. Summer was about normal, although July was cooler and August was like hot pot! In autumn, September and October were quite pleasant, but November brought us intense cold. And December surprised us by being warmer than usual!<\/p>\n

There was everything on the subject of extreme temperatures! In January, Storm Filomena brought heavy snow and very low temperatures. Then, in August, a heat wave had us sweating with temperatures exceeding 40\u00b0C!<\/p>\n

As for rain, Madrid was rather dry, with 89% of normal precipitation. Other regions, such as the Cantabrian coast, received plenty of water, but Galicia, Catalonia and other areas were quite dry.<\/p>\n

Spring was dry, especially in March, but summer brought us a little more water, especially in June. The fall was dry, although September was wet. December ended up being more normal in terms of rain!<\/p>\n

There were intense episodes of rain, such as Storm Filomena in January and storms in April and July. Some places had record rainfall!<\/p>\n

In summary, in Madrid we lived through a year with high temperatures, some droughts and other moments of intense water. The weather gave us everything in 2021!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
